Model Railways: product lines and brand names

This is a simplistic look at the products and brands it is designed to give an over-view of the industry and its inter-relationships. In fact it is a lot more complicated than this. For example,  tooling for many of the Kitmaster kits was destroyed by Airfix, including the coaches and Blue Pullman, through storage outdoors! Hence, Dapol bought only a small proportion of  the Kitmaster kits. Hornby make one of the Mainline tank wagons as well as one or two Mainline locos. Replica Railways also used some of the Mainline tooling and paid for the completion some models Palitoy were working on when they went out of business.
